Originating from Northern Italy, the reduced size of this cacciatore, meaning “hunter” in Italian, is aptly named for its portability, as hunters were known to carry it in their packs to eat whilst hunting. Seasoned with black pepper, garlic and spices, including a popular chilli piccante style – this versatile, dry aged salami can be served thinly sliced for sandwiches or toppings, or served as an appetiser with cheese and a dry white wine.
